Ramsey Kilani, MD is a physician, entrepreneur, operator, and investor with more than 25 years of experience building, scaling, and advising companies across healthcare, life sciences, and technology. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Western Skies Partners, where he combines deep operating experience with technical and subject-matter expertise to identify, invest in, and help build emerging companies addressing important markets and complex problems. Western Skies Partners takes an operator-led approach to investing, bringing together the perspectives of an investor, entrepreneur, and industry expert. The firm focuses on opportunities where its experience and network can extend beyond providing capital—helping founders navigate strategy, commercialization, operations, technology, and the practical challenges of scaling a business. This approach is particularly valuable in healthcare and life sciences, where domain expertise, regulatory complexity, technology, and business execution are often inseparable. Throughout his career, Dr. Kilani has founded, operated, and held C-level leadership positions in early-stage companies spanning healthcare services, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare technology, and alternative payment models. He is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Gliavent Group, a strategic consulting firm serving companies across healthcare, life sciences, and technology. Through these roles, he has worked closely with founders, management teams, investors, and strategic organizations to develop businesses, commercialize new technologies, and navigate emerging markets. Dr. Kilani began his career in academic medicine as a faculty member in Neuroradiology at Duke University, where he completed his residency and fellowship training. He has authored numerous publications across diagnostic utilization, spinal interventional procedures, translational neuroscience, pharmacology, and gene therapy, and has served on advisory committees and in professional roles with organizations including the American College of Radiology and American Board of Radiology. At Western Skies Partners, Dr. Kilani is focused on the intersection of capital, operating expertise, and technical knowledge—supporting entrepreneurs and companies that have the potential to create meaningful change while building durable, valuable businesses.
